PointLineReference - 12

This tool defines a new reference system based on points and lines.


Setup

Coordinate system

  • Reference - Reference system selection

Point or Line 1 - Sets the Point/Line to base the reference calculation. The Point/Line is previously found by another tool.  

  • Tool - Name of tool
  • Result - Name of point or line

Point or Line 2 - Sets the Point/Line to base the reference calculation. The Point/Line is previously found by another tool.  

  • Tool - Name of tool
  • Result - Name of point or line

Note: the resulting reference system is calculated differently based on the settings:

  • Point1, Point2: Point1 defines the origin; the x axis points towards Point2
  • Line1, Line2: Origin is the intersection point; the x axis is parallel to Line1
  • Point1, Line2: Origin is Point1, the x axis is parallel to Line2
  • Line1, Point2: Origin is the projection of Point2 onto Line1; the x axis is parallel to Line1

Rotation - rotate the outgoing reference system additionally

  • Rotate resulting reference - add rotation to the reference system
  • Angle - the rotation angle
  • Also modify result angle - modify both outgoing reference system and results
