Windows XP will install in a best effort style default drivers for SONY cameras. This
driver may very well be signed by SONY. However it is by no means
supported by Scorpion Vision Software. Scorpion Vision Software
supports drivers from UNIBRAIN.
Use UNIBRAIN 3.00 - the latest available is 3.03 - for your Sony Cameras.
The older cameras cameras XCD-X700 or
XCD-SX900 cameras will also support version 1.21 and 2.5.
Version 3.0 and 1.21 may coexist,
which is good when you operate a mixture of old and new models. Be sure
to assign the right driver for each camera.

driver
Drivers are found on the CD and on Scorpion Support Web -

Installing a camera and the driver
- Connect the camera
- Get the driver (CD or web)
- Install the Fire-I Software - includes the wdm-driver (SETUP)
Use DeviceManager and inspect the driver details. It may look as in
the picture above (not good...).
Double click on the device. The dialog above appears.
Select Update Driver.
Install from a list or specific location.
Select the driver to install.
Go for the Unibrain Fire-i driver / IIDC Spec 1.3 compliant camera
Now the correct driver is installed and operating.
UNIBRAIN requires you to obtain a license for operating a non-UNIBRAIN
camera with their drivers. Hence the next step is
to get a valid driver license. (The camera will work for 30 min, then
it will stop working until you reboot.)
